Fleet maintenance for trucking and bus companies
Contracts suit bus companies, school bus contractors, coach and charter operators, and trucking and delivery fleets based in HRM or along the 102. They work especially well for fleets that are too small to staff their own shop around the clock, and for larger operations that need overflow help or a reliable night-time breakdown option.
What a fleet maintenance contract covers
- Scheduled preventative maintenance in your yard or shop, at the intervals your units need
- Engine diagnostics when a unit throws a code or a warning light
- Brake, air system, lighting, fluid and tire checks on every visit
- Repairs found during service, approved by you before the work is done
- Large repairs done in your yard or your shop (see below)
- A/C, heating and ventilation work on cabs, buses and coaches (truck, bus and motor coach HVAC)
- Priority on the 24/7 emergency roadside line for every unit on the contract
- 12V and 24V battery boosting and no-start calls for parked units, any time of year
Large truck and bus repairs in your yard or shop
Some jobs are bigger than a roadside fix. We take on large repairs for fleets in your yard or in your own shop, scheduled around the hours your units are parked. Jobs that need a hoist or a pit are done in your shop, since a unit cannot be lifted safely in an open yard.
- Brake and air system overhauls
- Suspension and steering work
- Cooling system repairs and component replacement
- Major electrical faults and charging system repairs
- Coach and bus repairs on Prevost, MCI, Temsa and Van Hool
Benefits of on-site fleet maintenance
Every trip to a shop costs a driver's time, fuel and a unit that is off the road while it waits in line. When the mechanic comes to your lot, units are serviced where they already park, usually outside the hours they are needed. Problems that would have turned into a highway breakdown get caught during routine visits, and when something does fail on the road you already have a mechanic who knows the unit.
Mixed fleet maintenance for buses, coaches and trucks
Ryon holds a Red Seal in Truck & Transport and has over 15 years of experience on buses, motor coaches and commercial trucks, including Prevost, MCI, Temsa and Van Hool coaches, the Van Hool TD925 double-decker, and the Blue Bird, Girardin and Diamond Coach school and mini buses that are common in Nova Scotia. A mixed fleet of school buses, mini buses, coaches and trucks can be covered by the same technician on the same schedule.
